Supporting Families Through Life’s Challenges
When a family faces hardship, timely support can make all the difference. SIWEC’s programmes provide essentials such as groceries and financial help, while also connecting families to longer-term resources. We aim to meet people where they are, with solutions that are practical, respectful, and rooted in real human connection.
Tailored Support for Families in Need
A number of families going through challenging times still face persistent financial challenges despite there being numerous existing government financial assistance programmes. Our social workers actively engage such families and identify ways to assist them through their struggles. Through comprehensive assessments, we gain insight into their specific needs and tailor effective solutions accordingly. Our primary aim is to complement existing government subsidies and aid with financial assistance or food ration support.
Our financial assistance support provides relief through cash disbursements to help families settle monthly expenses such as utilities and groceries. In addition, we provide food ration support in the form of NTUC vouchers to help with essential groceries. These monthly allocations are subjected to regular review to ensure they remain aligned with the changing social and financial circumstances of the families we serve.

Food for Rations
The R2S volunteer group joins forces with like-minded volunteer cyclists and marshals to support the distribution of onthly rations to 50 seniors and 50 students affiliated with the Sunlove Day Activity Centre in Eunos. This ongoing initiative addresses the basic needs of these beneficiaries whilst nurturing a strong sense of community and empathy among volunteers. Beyond providing rations, they also assist families in Eunos by cleaning their houses when required.
Since September 2023, the R2S volunteer group started a new initiative to serve fresh breakfast meals to 180 residents of Bukit Batok Home for the Aged on every first Saturday of the month.
